"The Portal 1930" is the official yearbook chronicling the academic year 1929–1930 at Silliman Institute in Dumaguete, Philippine Islands. Published by the Senior Class of 1930 , it reflects a pivotal period of growth, noting the Alumni body numbered over 500 men and women. The volume includes messages and praise for the institution from prominent figures in the colonial government and Philippine leadership, such as Governor-General Leonard Wood, General Emilio Aguinaldo, and Speaker Manuel Roxas. The yearbook is dedicated to the students’ parents and to President David S. Hibbard, the co-founder, whose character and devotion were highly regarded. It provides detailed documentation of student life, from literary societies to athletics, and includes a somber note on the passing of its Editor-in-Chief, Pastor Tañega. Historically, it serves as a record of one of the Philippines' most successful and influential Protestant institutions of higher learning during the American colonial era.
