This volume is the 1915 annual yearbook of the Philippine Normal School (PNS), a central Insular institution dedicated to training young Filipino men and women for efficient service as teachers in the public school system. As the sole normal school in the Islands at the time, the PNS played a vital role in establishing a national educational structure during the American colonial period. The publication covers the activities of the 1914–1915 school year and serves as the "fifth annual" of the institution. It documents the school's organizational structure, which included a four-year secondary course covering academic, professional, industrial, and physical training subjects, in addition to a specialized two-year Housekeeping and Household Arts course. The annual is dedicated to Superintendent Andrew Washington Cain. It provides a comprehensive record of the student body, numbering over 1,800 across the secondary and training departments, and features a faculty of both American and Filipino instructors, reflecting the professionalization and localization of the teaching profession in the Philippines.
