About this record
The album is a primary source record of the event that initiated the construction of the building, which is now the main Robert B. and Metta J. Silliman Library. The project's funding source is the "American Schools and Hospitals Abroad Program (U.S. Aid)," highlighting the significant role of international aid in the university's infrastructural development during that period. The building itself is a prominent example of Brutalist architecture on campus.
