The Portal 1980 is a vital archival publication maintained within the Sillimaniana and Archives Section of the Silliman University Library System. As the official university yearbook for the 1979-1980 academic year, it serves as a primary record of the institution at the threshold of a new decade. This volume documents the academic life, student achievements, and faculty profiles during the final year of the 1970s decade under the continued socio-political context of the Martial Law period. It captures the "Silliman Spirit" through its coverage of campus organizations, athletics, and cultural events, providing an essential historical link for alumni and researchers studying the university's resilience and its role in Philippine higher education during this transition into the 1980s.
