The Portal 1981 is a vital archival publication maintained within the Sillimaniana and Archives Section of the Silliman University Library System. As the official university yearbook for the 1980-1981 academic year, it chronicles the institution during a significant year when Martial Law was technically "lifted" in the Philippines. This volume serves as a primary source documenting the academic life, student achievements, and faculty profiles during this period of political transition. It captures the "Silliman Spirit" through its coverage of campus organizations, athletics, and cultural events, providing an essential historical link for alumni and researchers studying the university's resilience and its role in Philippine higher education at the start of the 1980s.
